Theory test

We don't sell training materials for this test. Why should you pay us when you can easily obtain the same study aids locally and cheaper? We will advise you on what to buy and where to get it.

The Theory Test consists of two parts. Firstly the multiple choice section, followed by the hazard perception part.

Multiple Choice

You will be given instructions on how the test operates. There is a pre-test practice session which is optional and does not affect the scoring on the main test. This is useful to become familiar with how the test operates. The real test begins at the end of the practice section. You will be asked 50 questions and have a time limit of 57 minutes to complete them. Once you decide on your choice of answer to each question simply touch the screen and the response will be registered. You may 'flag' questions which you would like to revisit later in the test. Following the end of this part of the Theory test, you may take a break before the Hazard Perception session commences. It is important to mention here that this part of the test can be delivered with voiceover in many languages . The minimum score to pass this part is 43/50.

Hazard Perception

At the start of this session, you will be shown a video clip which sets out how the test will be conducted. This part is also taken on computer using the mouse button once a developing hazard is observed. You will view 14 video clips of real driving situations. In each clip, there will be at least one developing hazard and in one clip there will be two. To maximise your score on this part, it is important to click the mouse button as soon as you see something which constitutes a developing hazard. The maximum score per clip is 5. Should repeated continual clicking of the mouse occur, you may see a warning message telling you that your score for that clip is zero. The system is sensitive to cheating. The minimum score to pass this part is 44/75.

Following the conclusion of the two parts of the test you will be given an opportunity to complete a customer survey. This is entirely optional and will in no way affect your test score. You would then leave the examination room and may not re-enter. The test centre staff will give you your result before you leave the building.
